The bad news, the Grand Tetons is crawling with photographers right now. The good news, they all tend to shoot at the same four or five iconic viewpoints, with the beautiful Oxbow Bend being at the top of this list. [click to continue…]

A few minutes after yesterday’s photo. The light dusting of snow really helped.

Three pronghorn just before sunrise. Unfortunately they didn’t stick around for the beautiful alpenglow!

Grand Teton last night.

The Jackson area has been getting some much needed rain since we arrived, which means some wonderful fresh snow on the Tetons! Uneventful travel getting here, in fact every flight was early!

I thought I would share our most recent cover – this just arrived in the mail. Not only is it fun to have a cover, but this Explorer’s Guide to Arizona looks like a great guide – it could come in very handy this winter. We are planning to spend some time in this warm state this winter.

Janine has the last of our summer photos added to our website just in a nick of time before we hit the road! She updated our section of British Columbia Photos, and Yukon Territory Photos. I really need to spend more time in both these beautiful Canadian Provinces.

Janine has added another new section to our website of Skagway Alaska photos. Skagway is one of my favorite Alaska towns – especially on a light cruise-ship day!

The only photography I have done over the last month has been assignment work – I’m looking forward to getting back into the field and immersing myself in photography. We have been working hard in the office so that we will be caught up before hitting the road Friday. [click to continue…]

Janine is working hard to update our main website with photos from this summer. She just added a gallery of Ketchikan Alaska Photos. Because of its convenient locations for cruise ships, Ketchikan is probably one of the most visited communities in Alaska.

We have a number of panoramics on our page of Las Vegas photos. Over the years customers have used them in some creative ways, including down the side of tour buses, and on 50 foot long wall paper running down the hallways in the new marketing offices of the Planet Hollywood casino (was the Aladin). But a recent customer just came up with a unique way to use one on his website – not to mention, he has an interesting business, I thought it was worth sharing.

I have begun using the Canon tilt / shift lenses increasingly more in the past 6 months; I have the 24mm and 45mm. There are certain situations where having the ability to tilt or shift is really advantageous - I thought I would touch on tilt today, and shift tomorrow. [click to continue…]

Saxman Totem Park, Ketchikan, Alaska. I thought the bottom of this totem pole was pretty funny! We have more Ketchikan, Alaska photos.

Sticking with the train theme, this is a recent photo from the Alaska Railroad as it travels between Anchorage and Seward, Alaska. I was able to shoot this from a platform between the cars.

Another photo from last month’s historic train ride into White Pass from Skagway, Alaska. If you take an Alaskan cruise, this excursion would be a must. We have many Skagway, Alaska photos.

We just received a copy of this Palm Springs Phone Book cover over the weekend, I thought it turned out pretty nice. We spent a little time in the Palm Springs area two years ago, we hope to get back to the area this winter.
