Aialik Glacier

I’m trying to get caught up on my editing going back to last August!  Here is a little different view of Aialik Glacier taken from a helicopter with the door removed a few months ago.  If you look close, you can see waves in front of the glacier – it must have just calved.

Wow. It’s amazing how all that mass of ice just ends like that. Seeing the glacier calving definitely made that rough boat ride I took worthwhile. Flying seems like it would have been more pleasant. :-)

Flying was a lot faster! It is an amazing amount of ice.

I think it is kind of neat to see a different view then what you see from the ocean.
