Everyday I drive by the train parked next to this beautiful field of lupine, I tell myself I need a photo of that scene before the lupine blooms out. Well today I finally made the time to capture a photograph.

Hi Ron, once again, sweet photo. I have been spying in on your blog and photos for some time now. You do a great job of capturing whatever you point at, and even tempt me to come fly some day up north. I do have a question for you, maybe you can address it some day in your “how to” series. Being that I have lived outside of the USA for a few years now in very remote places in the Amazon Jungle and now the deserts of Mexico, my camera is needing some loving…i.e. cleaning. What do you do to clean your gear? Do you send it off, do you do it yourself, both? Anyway…I look forward to the next blog…blessings.

Thanks a lot for the comment. You should come visit Alaska – I think you will love it, especailly as a pilot!
I need to get back to my lessons, and that would be a good one. I hate cleaning my sensor, and go to great lengths to keep it clean, but it is really tough in the desert. For the time being, I have been using this technique: http://www.pbase.com/copperhill/ccd_cleaning/
I find it takes many attempts to get it right. Sometimes I get down to just one spot, try one more cleaning, and boom, now there are three!
It is a frustrating process.
I may try some new things soon, and I will report on them if I do.

This is great Ron. The Alaska is a perfect backdrop for such a beautiful display of flowers. Would make for a great postcard or some tourist brochure.
I need to clean my sensor too. It is a mess!
