Alaska Railroad Photos

Sticking with the train theme, this is a recent photo from the Alaska Railroad as it travels between Anchorage and Seward, Alaska.  I was able to shoot this from a platform between the cars.

nice shot- cool effect to get the trian logo and distant mountains all in focus- depth of field, eh?. your’e in alaska and i’m in the bronx. hmmm. i’ll take some pix of the Metro north coommuter train pulling into the Fordham stop, as the breeze kicks up the garbage and sprays it all over the platform, with a panoramic view of the auto-body shops on Webster Ave in the distance.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I used f/10 so that I would have the depth of field for the logo and the distant mountains. The only drawback, that gave me a shutter speed of 1/50th of a second so the flowers were blurred – but that is ok – it shows movement.

Bronx – wow, that is a place I only know of from TV and the movies. Your words paint quite a picture!
