Baseball Spring Training

Some dear friends generously provided us with tickets to the San Francisco Giants Spring Training games – they are sure fun!  I love the relaxed, casual atmosphere where before the game the players work their way down the sidelines posing for photos and signing autographs.  We had such good seats to yesterday’s game that I decided to bring my camera and try to capture the action – that was a  blast as well!  I gotta admit, catching that moment the ball leaves the bat is much harder then it looks!

Nice pics Ron! Those look like they were awesome seats, my kids would be jealous.

Sweet swing looks like Buster got all of that one. Was it a base hit or something more on that pitch.

Thanks a lot everyone!

Captain Kidd – good to hear from you! It was a single, one that loaded the bases with the Giants down by two. Milwaukee brought in another pitcher who preceded to pick Buster off and end the inning without throwing a single pitch! With a name like that, how can he help but be a good baseball player.

Those are some really great action shots Ron.

Great shots Ron. I really like that you were able to capture the flex in the bat as the ball comes off it.

What was the largest lens you brought to the game? I’m looking into whether I’d be allowed to bring my 100-400mm to a game, but I’m worried they won’t allow it.

Thanks Joe – I was surprised to see just how much the bat flexed!

Scott – I worried about the same thing – I had my 100-400 – I had to open my bag for security and no one said anything so it must not be a problem.
