Savannah Sparrow on a lupine near Seward, Alaska.

This sparrow had a mouth full of some sort of insect.  After posing nicely in one of the most colorful patches of lupine, it flew back to the woods – to a nest I assume.

such a cute bird. I think the little details are always what makes a photo interesting such as the “food” in the birds mouth. you are an awesome wildlife photographer, Ron. You should do more of it.

I appreciate it Richard.

I have been doing a little more wildlife photography lately, and have enjoyed it – It was my main emphasis starting out, now it seems to come and go in phases depending on the opportunities.

Thanks,

Ron

I agree with Richard. You have an awesome ability to bring the animal photo to life. Carl is the same way. Both of you are awesome wildlife photographers!

Ron, my mother’s maiden name is Niebrugge. Her father was from Indiana and my mom lived in Terre Haute all of her life. She is now 88 yrs old. Her only brother has passed away and she has one newphew left to carry on the Niebrugge name. Could you possibly be related to our branch of the family? My grandfather’s name was Floyd Niebrugge. Thanks for reading this and I hope to hear from you. Sally Taylor

Hi Sally,

Great to hear from you!

My Grandparents lived in San Diego for a long time, but I think my grand father moved there from the Indiana or Illinois, I will check with my parents today exactly where, and if they know of Floyd Niebrugge.

My dad was an only child, and I was my parents only son and because we don’t have any kids, I’m afraid I won’t be helping to carry on the Niebrugge name.

Thanks Sally – I will add more after hearing back from my parents.

Ron
