The last couple of days it seems whenever I have stepped outside the house, I have been greeted by the wonderful sound of passing flocks of Sandhill Cranes. (more…)

I find I’m often frustrated when shooting extreme activities. The mountains never look as steep, and the drops as high when I look at my photos after the fact. A couple of years ago I discovered the secret to shooting extreme activities; (more…)

The U.S. Alpine Ski team has been in Alaska this past week for the U.S. Alpine National Championships. I didn’t make it this year, but my sister and her family did. She said the skiers were awesome, taking the time to pose for photos and to autograph my nieces’ and nephew’s ski jackets and helmets. Not just the B teamers, but the biggest stars like Bodie Miller and Julia Mancuso - two of the best skiers in the world! My sister now has a cool family photo with Bodie Miller in it! (more…)

It is always nice to be home. (more…)

I’m sure Turnagain Pass received its fair share. (more…)

Janine has been working really hard on our website during the past month and she has now added over 300 new Chugach National Forest photos. (more…)

Yesterday I wrote about finding aurora borealis, today how to actually photograph them. (more…)

I thought I would share some tips for photographing the aurora borealis, also known as northern lights. The hardest part of photographing the auroras is finding them - so today I thought I would write about finding them, tomorrow actually photographing them. (more…)
