This is a cute little ground bird. Experimenting with blind locations with a temporary blind at my water source last night.
Although I don’t like cows, I couldn’t resist photographing this family on a rainy New Year’s Day. In the last week or so, we have received a lot of rain really greening this area up!
We have received a lot of rain and some beautiful stormy skies over the last few days.
Even though I have a lot of photos of cardinals, I keep taking more – it is such a colorful bird!
Excited to see so many mammals passing through the property. A gray fox has been a nightly visitor on the game camera, javalina come through every couple of days, we even had a skunk! This mule deer walked through a couple of days ago – I have seen them nearby a number of times, but this is the first one I have seen right on site.
Saturday night from our campsite. Had to work hard for this one – turned off the bar-b-q, set my glass of wine down and grabbed the tripod. 🙂
I love the fact that our home is Alaska is surrounded by large mountain rising up right from town. However, because of this, we don’t see too many sunsets – I think I have seen more sunsets here in the last week in Arizona as I do in a year in Alaska. So you can see how this has been a real treat for me – hope you don’t get tired of sunsets!
I typically won’t post such a bad photo – but then again, I typically don’t see such a rare animal! These guys are usually nocturnal and rarely seen.
I always keep my camera ready to go by my chair except for today and it cost me a head on close-up. My camera wasn’t handy and then didn’t have a card in it, but still encouraging for future photo opps. I was pretty sure I have seen this guy at night with my flashlight, but I never could get a good look and thought it might be be a cotimundi.
