The last time we went running on this trail, the people just a head of us had run into a bear. It was hard not to forget this fact when we arrived at the trail-head at 4:45 a.m. and found it almost pitch dark! For some reason I thought we would have some light. (more…)

We have been seeing a fair amount of Colorado Columbine wildflowers at higher elevations - above 7,000 feet. They are a beautiful wildflower. Unfortunately there are very few wildflowers here this year. Like most of the west, it is extremely dry.

After photographing the barn in yesterday’s post, I noticed some buffalo heading towards one of the other barns. I waited, and sure enough they eventually past in front of this barn. This was about two hours after sunrise.

I know I’m not the first person to photograph this barn, but how could I pass up such a beautiful scene!

Grand Teton this morning just a few hours ago.

Mount Moran this morning (Monday), Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.
It was a great morning - found baby buffalo, a Grizzly Sow with cubs, bull Moose, Elk and Antelope! Captured with a Canon tilt / shift lens.

Well I guess it is obvious we made the long drive from Vegas to the Tetons! (more…)
