I did use a 3 stop hard edge grad filter, not to darken the sky, but to balance the light - with sun on the snowy peaks, that area was far brighter then the valley below.  The dark sky was just an off-shoot of the filter.  Was really hoping for some colorful clouds!  I might have even used a 5 stop filter here - rarely use that would, but was trying it here.</description>
