Dall Sheep, Denali National Park, Alaska.

I tried to get these guys over numerous days but was never able to get the right combination of light and fall foliage until almost my last day.  On my second to last evening I found this ram in one of the most colorful parts of Denali right at sunset – I was thrilled!

  1. Ron, I watched the light playing over the Alaska range from my house while you were in the park and it looked like there was a lot of interesting skies. I love the clouds and light in this scene.

  2. Nice color Ron. Polychrome Hills is always a beautiful backdrop for a wildlife shot. Amazing that the Dall sheep came down that low from their usual higher hill positions. Surprised the wolves didn’t get this one.

    Thanks a lot everyone!

@ Wayne I agree, seemed like it was very vulnerable in such a location. I love Polychrome Pass!

@ Patrick There sure was a lot of great light on this trip! That was the best treat.

    Thanks again for the comments!
