Desert Lily

Desert Lily

Desert Lily, Anza Borrego Desert State Park, California.

One of the better areas right now is along Henderson Canyon Road.   The Desert Lily is a beautiful flower with almost a prehistoric look to it.  Along with the pink Desert Sand Verbena seen here, there was also plenty of Dune Evening Primrose.  Numerous Lupine and other Desert Lily were just starting to sprout and should be blooming in this area in the weeks to come.

I’ll tell ya Ron, it is just pretty darn wierd to be looking at flower pictures when it is 0 degrees outside right now. :-) Some very cool stuff, you are right – quite prehistoric!

I can’t wait for the flowers to arrive here myself! As far as yours go, that is one beautiful plant. Check out those wavy leaves!

I know what you mean – seeing photos of flowers is always weird when you are still in winter. Although back home the temps have been in the 40′s – flowers may not be far away up there at that pace :)
