I thought I would share an image from back before I ever had a blog – this was back when I would drive my camper between Alaska and the Lower 48 every year, usually through one of my favorite areas in North America, Jasper National Park.  I need to get back there!

  1. A wonderful image Ron. I look forward to visiting Jasper in September.

I found this interesting bit of history in my Lonely Planet guide to Banff, Jasper & Glacier Nat’l Parks.
The mountain and lake were named in honor of Ms. Edith Cavell. She was a British nurse who was executed by a German firing squad during WWI after helping over 200 wounded allied soldiers escape into neutral Holland.
Interesting that you posted this with Memorial Day soon approaching.

Hi Bill, That is an interesting story. Now that you mention it, I remember reading about that while there. This was captured in September, and awesome time of year down there with the Fall colors and elk rut.
