Emerald Pools, Zion National Park, Utah

Lower Emerald Pool, Zion National Park, Utah.

Despite the name, there isn’t a beautiful emerald colored pool at the Lower Emerald Pool – maybe there was at one time.   There are a couple of nice little waterfalls coming over the alcove and into the pools, along with some nice fall colors, so at least there was still some cool photo opportunities.

Here is a larger version of this photo of the Emerald Pools in Zion.

looks like you had a fair amoutn of water on Emerald Falls. I’ve never been able to get it to show up on my images because it’s too faint. What type of light is this? It looks mid-day? Nice.

Hi Richard,

It did seem like a fair amount of water especially for fall. I have never been there before, so I can’t really compare. This was in the mid-morning – right after the sun began to hit this area, and the water is back-lit, that really helped the water show.

Thanks,

Ron

I really like the colors and light on the water. Nice shot.
