Thanks Julie! This didn’t smell quite as good as the Ghiradelli chocolate building!

Hey Ron – if you don’t mind me asking, how do you approach an area as far as finding places to shoot?
Do you scour the internet to see what’s been done…what landmarks there are? Do you hit the message boards and ask locals for ideas? Do you pour over maps? Or do you just totally wing it; fill the gas tank and explore?
And does your approach differ much when you’re looking for shots in a city (like San Francisco or Vegas) as opposed to the mountains in Colorado or Lake Tahoe?

Are you able to sell a photo like this w/o getting releases from everyone in the photo?
This captures the flavor and smell of Fisherman’s Wharf quite well. I like the way you mix cityscapes and landscapes on your blog and in your photography in general.

You just messed with my olfactory senses! Prior to seeing your picture, I was lovingly thinking of rich, creamy dark Belgium chocolate 😉

Yes for editorial (magazine use), but not for advertising. That is how places like the National Enquirer are able to post photos of stars.
Looks like there was a little crab around
