It is a great trail, I don't think you need to worry about falling, but you will want to watching your footing on the way down when your legs are tired.

Black bears are very common on the trail.  They haven't ever given anyone any problem, but I like to make some extra noise, and if I'm by myself, I usually carry bear spray.
