I primarily keyword in Photoshop and if I don't click elsewhere after entering the keywords, the semi-colons aren't put into place by the software and I lose the words even if I go to "Origin" afterwards. I've done a little keywording on iView, but in order for those to be embedded in the actual files you have to save over your original file so I don't mess with that too much. Interesting. That makes me a little nervous moving forward. I do brief keywords and captions when I’m on the road, and this last trip I inadvertently used XMP instead of IPTC. I put my final information in IPTC, but it looks like the old XMP information overwrote my IPTC information somewhere along the way. I’m not even sure what program did this, I might have even happened in Photoshop. I don’t really understand all this metadata stuff, but I think I will be staying away from XMP for the time being.
