Lena Cove, Juneau, Alaska

This is a beach not far out the road from Juneau, last night just as it began to rain.  It has rained hard all day today, but I’m still excited as Janine is arriving shortly to join me for a week here in Juneau and in Skagway!

  1. I think that is great that you still get excited when you see Janine. I’m sure that helps you get thru the bad weather. I hope I find someone who makes me happy like that someday soon! that is great light.

  3. Great scene – very Inside Passage ! I really enjoy reading your blog as you move around, I usually time it with a short coffee break in the morning. This would have been a great HDR scene – have you ever tried that method out ? It’s a great way to not have to use the split ND filters, although they are very handy…

Anyway, have fun with Janine – I would suggest dinner for two at the Stowaway Cafe in Skagway, its right on the small boat harbor- nine tables, intimate dining. I used to cook there when I first moved to Alaska.

Keep up the great work !

Hey Mark – thanks for the comment, I’m glad you enjoy the blog!

I have been doing some HDR. I have three different exposures of this scene that I may combine when I’m home. For the blog on the road, this shot with the 3 stop GND filter is fine.

We will definitely have to eat at Stoaway’s.

    Thanks,

    Ron
