Mendenhall Glacier Cave - wow!

This is one of those places that evokes a constant wow! I’m still saying wow!
Judging from the long line of buses at the visitor center, it is easy to see why the Mendenhall Glacier is the most visited site in Alaska. I think very few see this amazing view from within the inside of the glacier! This is absolutely an amazing place - it reminds me of my reaction when I first saw Mt Mc.Kinley or a sunbeam in the Antelope Slot Canyon.
This cave has become somewhat popular locally in recent months. I wasn’t aware of it, and have to thank T. Kent Mearig for writing about this wonderful place.
I did a bunch of shooting in there. The light, blue glow, close-ups of ice, the possibilite were endless. I was surprised to see a little sun beam shining through the clouds and into the cave - that is where I had Janine stand.
The stream flows further into the glacier as you can see in the lower left. You won’t believe what is at the end of that tunnel, but I will save that until tomorrow’s blog.

Looks like an incredible place, almost ‘otherworldly.’
