Mergansers

The bears didn’t show up Saturday morning, but a family of Mergansers swam within inches of my camera as I waited. I wish the camera was pointed down more, but I was expecting a much larger subject! I usually don’t crop my images, but decided I would crop this one for the blog.

It’s really refreshing to see wildlife with a new perspective. Cropped or not I like the idea of seeing wildlife in this manner. I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks Jim - the wheels in my head have been turning with other possibilities.

A beautiful pic. I know you were waiting for a much larger subject, but this is really cool. Wonderful colors!

Hey Ron, I’ve been wanting to ask you. Is the Salton Sea still around anymore? I haven’t been to southern Cal in a couple of years, about a year & 1/2. The furtherest south I went was La Jolla . Awesome cliffs, as you know!! I was just wondering. P.S. The worlds oldest car lot with not a running car!!LOL Unless they’ve cleaned it up!

Thanks Beth - these guys were fun to watch!
You know I drove by the Salton Sea a number of times last winter when we were at Anza-Borrego, and I had intended to photograph the area, but never did. The wildflowers were too much of a distraction! It is still there, and it is still pretty desolate. It would have been interesting to see that car lot.
