Hey Zak, good question – you know that key is to photograph the moon a day or two before it is actually full – this way you have some light on earth at that time, and a nearly full moon – this way the exposures between the two are fairly equal. On the night of the full moon, the moon is much brighter then the landscape and you can’t balance the two without doing something like blending exposures.

fantastic shot. How do you get the mountain to expose as well as not having the moon wash out?
