I photographed this cow and calf moose last week, but they ended up taking a back seat in the blog queue to the bears. Moose are cool, but bears are more exciting.

Gorgeous photo! Looks like this calf has survived the bears so far
Thanks!
Yeah they have been pretty fortunate. This pair was in front of Bay Vista B and B, a place where the sow brown bear and cub were earlier this summer.

The scale of this really shows how big the moose really are. Nice work Ron.
AWWWWWWWWWWW I love it! My first siting of a Cow and calf was up in Montana. I had just woke up and walked out on my aunts deck and was watching the offspray ( not sure if that is how they spell it) I looked down and saw a Mom with calf crossing the Kootenay/Kootenai river. It was the neatest thing I had ever seen. I was about 12 or 13 at the time.
That is a cool story Doris – it is interesting how experiences like that can have such an impact on us and can stay with us for so long!
Thanks for sharing,
Ron
How cute!! Hey, do ya think SHE can win the Triple Crown??LOL! Actually, I think horse racing is bad. I think we should let animals be what they are supposed to be: Wild.
What an awesome shot, just a relaxing moment between the two.
