Hi Ron,
I’ll make a short introduction – I’m a photographer down the road a bit from you in Homer. I’ve just recently discovered your blog and subscribed. I was out kitesufing with a mutual friend of ours a couple weeks ago – Dave Caulkins?
Now that’s out of the way. this post left me with some questions. I’m assuming this is the Las Vegas sign. What did they make it read? it looks like it is funny. Do you know what it says?
cheers.
Hi Scott,
Great to hear from you! It would be nice to meet you in person someday.
I just spent some time enjoying your website and blog, you have some great stuff. I love that frosty window photo with the water drops! I seen a number of your photos before in different publications.
That is the Las Vegas sign, but I have know idea what it says. I should find out because it does look like a funny word.
Thanks for the comment,
Ron
I did a little more checking, according to Wikipedia, Schiermonnikoog is an island, a municipality and a national park in the northern Netherlands.

Looks great whatever the heck it means. As long as I got paid well I coudn’t care even if they said something defamatory about me on there.
Rolfsteinfockelsmeigl hmelsinglinen!
Ron,
Likewise, likewise.
That is funny/odd that they chose that sign for this use. I guess it has many connotations that could be expanded in the article.
Certainly if you ever come to Homer give me a call.
best,
I will, Scott – same if you make it to Seward.
Thanks,
Ron
