The mountain biking on the Competitive Track at McDowell Mountain is an absolute blast! Very smooth and fast, with lots of curves, dips and woop-dee-dos! It is no wonder it is the first stop of the National Mountain Biking Series Championship races later this month.
There are three loops, Sport, Technical and Long. We really like the Sport. The Technical has a couple of big drops, but it isn’t as hard as the name implies. The loops are one way, and you are free to ride as fast as you can. Here is a map.
We have done some photography there, but we have a tough time pulling off the appearance of competitive riders lol. This afternoon we have hired a hard-core rider with top-notch gear and skills for a photo session – it should be fun.
