NANPA Conference Report

by Ron on January 23, 2007

I haven’t had time to post thanks to the whirlwind of activity at the North American Nature Photographers Association conference in Palm Springs.  In a nutshell, the conference was excellent and exceeded all my expectations.

First was the day and a half of travel.  It amazes me to go from a small Alaska town, with cold weather and deep snow, to a place like Palm Springs in such a short period of time.  The contrast is extreme.  The Conference was held at a fancy resort where if you are willing to pay enough, you can find people to rub your back, clip your nails and wash your face -  they prefer words like massage, pedicure and facial.

The Conference itself was excellent.  I meet a number of photographers, and made some great friends.  The break-out sessions were very informative, I may touch on some of them in follow-up posts, and the slide presentations were outstanding and inspiring.  From world famous pros, to unknown amateurs they were all creative and excellent.

I haven’t touched my camera in over a week, thus the lack of an image with this post.  This should change by this weekend when I hope to begin adding images again.
