I thought the most interesting part of our NASCAR experience was the day we spent at the new Neon Garage area on the practice and qualifying day, where we were able to watch the drivers and crews up-close – much closer then I ever imagined.
From the Neon Garage, you could see into the car garage areas from the ground level, and from above. There really wasn’t a thing we couldn’t see. You could even stand about 10 feet away as the cars went through inspection. It was fascinating. The list of drivers we saw was long.
I picked this photo of Carl Edwards because I liked the way he and the crew member were gathered around the car. Most drivers tended to stand back about 10 feet with their hands on their hips – or more likely, scratching and shaking their heads.
