A brown bear sow and her second summer triplets as they finish eating a pink salmon we watched her catch just moments before. Hallo Bay, Katmai National Park, Alaska.
Katmai Bears
I’m home from an amazing Katmai Bear photo Tour. We had amazing weather the whole week, and saw over 50 bears! In our first bay, Geographic Harbor, we had 10 spring cubs! Two sets of triplets, and two sets of twins. Also on the trip we saw a wolf, fox, fin and humpback whales, and more eagles, otters and puffin then we could count. All that, and we only saw one other tour boat and one other plane during the whole time on the Katmai Coast.
Black Bear
With ears like those I’m sure he heard us coming. 🙂

A couple of images from Northwestern Fjord, Kenai Fjords National Park, near Seward, Alaska. Myself and four friends, well, six friends counting crew, had such amazing weather and a fun time of kayaking and hiking there last month.

Pack Creek Bear Observatory
Home from three back to back trips including two wonderful Alaska bear and whale photo tours! We had lots of brown bears at Pack Creek on both trips. Orcas and lots of humpbacks for both trips as well, including an extended session with bubble net feeding humpbacks on week two. That trip has never failed to amaze me, and every year is so different.
