Spring Cubs!

These three cubs were one of the highlights from last week!  I have a version with all three standing, but I like how the two cubs are looking at their mom in this version.  The cubs were looking at their mom out of concern as another sow had moved into the meadow.  After some tense interaction that included some jaw popping and stomping, the other sow finally moved on and all were fine.

Love the picture Ron!! How long of a lens were you using for the shot?

Thanks Ron! This was with a Canon 7D, 600 f/4 and a 1.4x converter. The bears were pretty far away, although a one point these three cubs ran up to only 30 feet away!

Hi Would you happen to be related to Gail. They owned the ice cream place in Glennallen. I have a totem pole painting of hers. We lived in Gulkana . Just wondering. Linda Mathews. Love your photos!

Awesome photo! I love the perspective of the tiny cubs standing next to their mom. It doesn’t get much cuter than this.
