Home after long, but wonderful trip! The amount of wildlife we saw at South Georgia was mind boggling. Most people, myself included were overwhelmed by the shear numbers, and when first landing on shore could hardly take it all in! I found myself just staring in disbelief unable to even photograph. You had elephant seals flipping sand into the air, fur seals growling and chasing you, and incredible numbers of king penguins like you see here. Never mind the stunning scenery of rivers, mountains and glaciers – it is an incredible place! I have plenty more to share in the weeks to come.

Thanks Nina – yes, I believe this colony has 150,000 pairs – you only see part of the colony here.
Sounds like you had a fantastic trip Ron. Looking forward to seeing more of your images from this amazing place.

Thanks Russ!
You can just about see each bird’s individual markings and personality. The clarity is astounding! Fantastic photo, most interesting!
