Steve Irwin Killed by a Stingray

by Ron on September 4, 2006

I was sorry to hear this morning that Steve Irwin, better known as the Crocodile Hunter, was killed after getting stung in the chest by a Stingray.  He was filiming a documentary in Australia when the fluke accident happened.  I’m sure the details will come to light in the press in the days to come.

The thing I really liked about Steve was his non-stop enthusaism.  Like a friend wrote, “That guy could make you get excited over an ant!”

He certainly lived life to the fullest.  Recently on U.S. TV a series of shows featured Steve, his wife and kids traveling to different Western U.S. National Parks in a motorhome.  You could tell his enthusasim was sincere.  The whole family looked to be having a wonderful time as they explored nature and as Steve taught his children about the different wildlife found in each Park.  I can’t image how hard his death must be on that beautful young family.  He will certainly be missed.
