Here is one from my Kenai Fjords National Park trip from earlier this month. It has been such a busy month that this trip seems like a life time ago!
I photographed it both ways, this version with the rocks along the bottom, and a version without the rocks. The rocks give it a visual anchor, and some context, the version without rocks is more of an abstract. So which do you like better?
I wasn’t going to post the version without the rocks – you can either scroll up until the rocks are out of sight, or use a piece of paper or your hand to block the rocks, and that will basically give you the same image.

I totally agree with you Ron. Without the rocks it could be an abstract created in photoshop or airbrush or other graphics program. However, with the rocks it makes me think about just how large the iceberg is and how cool these frozen formations really are. It also gives a bit of scale and a desire to see more. Good choice. Thanks for posting.
Hey very good blog!!!! Wow… Gorgeous .. Amazing
I like the rocks better
On the rocks! Nice work, Ron…I’ve never seen anything like it. 😀
I like the rocks in on this one, Ron. This would be one fantastic photo to have on the ceiling at the dentist’s surgery, as it would really take the patient’s focus of their mouth and into this fascinating pattern.
Tough choice. But the one with the rocks stands out more.

Hey thanks for the great feedback! Seems like most people like the rocks, but not everyone.
The rocks rock, especially with the great shadow detail.
I definitely like it without the rocks.
