Thanks Helena,

I long exposure to make the water look milky smooth, and polaraizer filter to remove the glare, and a tripod because of the long exposure. Good luck!

Hello, This photo looks amazing, I'm an amature photograher and I would love to be able to take a picture like this someday, we are going to Colorado this weekend and so I would love to bring some kind of a photo home that has the water looking like this, would you be willing to share some info on how to do this?

Absolutely beautiful Ron (as you might have picked up from the email I sent to my radio biz partner), what a gorgeous shot. It could not have been done better. We have to find a way to get one of your pictures into "The Joy of Digital Photography" that I'm revising right now--the wider world needs to see these amazing photos!

Hi! This is my first time visiting your blog. Your photos here are very beautiful and stunning. I just started a new blog called sheltersky. Well, my main objective is to create a space where mood, imagination, and beautiful imagery of landscapes anf from our ordinary life can come together to inspire in all of us. It is a collection of poetry, photos, and stories. You have a wonderful site and hope you don't mind if I add it to my blog list! Thanks:)

Hey Ron,

I agree with Chris' comment - the composition here just kills - really, really a great photo. Everything about it is right on.

Cheers

I love how you composed this shot. Obviously there is more to the falls than what you captured, but the way you put the twin water spouts in the upper left of the photo is fantastic. It really gives the photo a starting place to look at and everything just flows from there.

Great job! But you probably already knew that . . . .

Hi Ron,

Once again you astound me with how you capture the beauty around us!
I live here in Colorado, and you inspire me to go out and shoot even if there are no wildflowers or fall colors around. Your sunrise and sunset shots ALWAYS remind me that it's worth crawling out of bed to take advantage of that light.

Thank you for adding the technical information you do. It's helps as I study your images to try to cement in my mind how I can use some of those same techniques.

You mentioned awhile back that you had considered doing some workshops. Even though I've never met you, I think you would do a wonderful job. Your photography is inspiring, and your ability to teach us is so appreciated.

Colors on the Western Slope aren't at peak yet. We don't have the beetle kill that there is on the Front Range, and Crested Butte and the San Juan Mtns are usually gorgeous.
