Totem Bight State Park, Ketchikan, Alaska

The Totem Bight State Historical Park is a very nice park just a few miles out the road from Ketchikan.  This is a clan house in some nice light at the end of the day.  In the foreground on the right is the base of the totem pole know as the Pole on the Point.

awesome. I’ve always wanted to photograph a totem pole since I saw them in Canada as a kid. It’s not a pleasant thought to realize you’ve squandered the past 21 years w/o going back. :-(

LOL – you certainly haven’t been squandering the past 21 years!

I have this miniature hand-carved totem pole souvenir from Stanley Park. It looks just like this photo.

Yesterday i saw on the tv weather report a 3D map of the west coast. I didn’t realize that you live way out there! It looks like I’m closer to Vancouver than you are.

You probably are – I traveled for 3 long days to get to where I am right now, and I’m still a fair distance to Vancouver.
