These are my snowshoe tracks in Turnagain Pass, Alaska in early January, 2004.
I have wanted to spend more time shooting in this area ever since this day, but have been unable to catch it looking like this with the heavy snow in the trees. The last couple of winters have been light on snow.
Well this winter we are getting snow! Seward received about another foot last night, although we are getting some rain this morning. I drove through Turnagain Pass on Tuesday and it looked amazing! Heavy snow on all the trees, they looked great. So on the next halfway sunny day, I’m grabbing my snowshoes and heading to the pass.
