The U.S. Alpine Ski team has been in Alaska this past week for the U.S. Alpine National Championships. I didn’t make it this year, but my sister and her family did. She said the skiers were awesome, taking the time to pose for photos and to autograph my nieces’ and nephew’s ski jackets and helmets. Not just the B teamers, but the biggest stars like Bodie Miller and Julia Mancuso – two of the best skiers in the world! My sister now has a cool family photo with Bodie Miller in it!
I love to hear stories like that. Unfortunately I had to skip the event this year – too much office work after two months on the road. The Alpine National Championships were also held in Alaska in 2004; I picked up a press pass and photographed that event – it was a blast! The above photo of Bodie Miller is one I captured in 2004
