Virginia City, Nevada.
I have been fortunate to visit some really fascinating, historic gold rush towns in the last few months including the Klondike Gold Rush towns of Skagway, Alaska and Dawson City, Yukon. I must say, Virginia City, Nevada was as interesting and enjoyable as any of them – I was pleasantly surprised.
One of the difficult challenges when photographing any of these towns is all the cars parked on the street. It makes it difficult to come up with interesting compositions as the cars seem to dominate the final image. Here I was lucky to find some interesting vehicles for the foreground. At least these bikes were far more interesting then the typical foreground option such as a Ford Taurus rental car!
Here are more Virginia City, Nevada photos.

You’re making me jealous Ron. I agree though about the cars. That is something I’ve never figured out how to deal with in these sorts of places. I guess that’s why I’ve gone to these places but have few photos to show for it. :-0 The bikes is definetely a much more befitting object than a car though for sure.
