Snow covered alders and trees, Seward, Alaska.
We have received a lot of snow over the last couple of days, and it keeps coming down! As a photographer, and avid cross country skier, I love it!
Believe it or not, this is a color photo.

Hey Ron,
Yeah, it’s dumpin here, too. The Karhu’s are ready to go.
Cheers
Carl
I sure is nice isn’t it! Getting my skies ready as well.

Simply beautiful. I like the graphical simplicity here Ron.
Thanks Mark!
Yeah it looks like your getting dumped on..none here now for over a week, the lawns are bare again.
What a contrast to Canyonlands! Flagstaff is hoping that the forcasted snow arrives at the Snow Bowl this weekend, but it won’t be anything like this.
It is amazing how fresh snow can transform the landscape. Hope you get snow!
That is a crazy amount of snow Ron. Some of those branches don’t even look like they should be supporting that much weight. Kind of like my herculean efforts at the gym.
I agree Richard. Those things will keep bending until they go to the ground and get completely buried with snow – then you can ski / snowshoe anywhere! But by next summer, they will grow back thicker then ever.
This brings back memories from when I was a kid. I always loved this sight. I recently saw something similar in Yosemite this week, but nothing of the scale seen in Alaska. Beautiful photo Ron. I look forward to seeing more of what you capture while there’s still snow on the ground.
Thanks Jim!
