Winter in Portage Valley

Winter

Portage Valley, Alaska a couple of weeks ago.

I stopped because there was a Bald Eagle in the closest tree.  Unfortunately, it flew as soon as I got out of my truck.  I thought it was still a nice scene.

A group of friends and I all went down to Portage for some xc-ski action, and were able to get right up close to the eagles while along the Trail of Blue Ice. I handed my camera over to my friend Tiffany so she could see them through the zoom – unfortunately, it was just as the eagle was spreading its wings for take-off and dropping the fluffy snow from the boughs of the tree. A great moment that escaped my lens.

Glad to see you have a blog for me to read while working !

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the comments and for sharing the story! Portage Valley is awesome.

The blog is giving you a preview of our next submission, so it counts as work :) .
