Aialik Bay, Kenai Fjords National Park, Alaska.
Ailalik Bay is one of the most beautiful locations in all of Alaska. The Pacific Ocean, tidewater glaciers, towering peaks and plenty of wildlife – you can’t beat it! Of the 500 – 1,000 people who visit this wonderful fjord each day via tour boat, maybe only one or two percent actually ever make it to shore.
This was a wonderful, calm summer evening close to midnight. That is the ocean on the right, and a lagoon on the left.

I’ll second that! I recall standing on that very beach next to my kayak watching two black bears feeding on the other side of that lagoon while listening to the glacier moan and grumble.
Love it.
Your Kenai Fjords images are making me want to visit. Thanks for sharing them.

Thanks guys!
Scott, this probably was the same beach, as the area was crawling with black bears. This was Pedersen Lagoon – did you paddle up in there?
Didn’t paddle inside the lagoon. We were paddling around near the glacier amongst the ice. Definitely a really exciting place. Seals, eagles, bears, calving glaciers all surrounded by mountains and ocean.
It’s good to see photos of Kenai Fjords.
Ron, I found your website several months ago when I started planning a family trip for this summer. Your site has been helpful, and your photography is inspirational.
Looking forward to seeing some of these sights myself soon!
