These are such amazing animals – it is hard to believe the steep terrain these guys can traverse with ease!

These were captured last Saturday on my recent trip to Denali, the bottom image just after 4:00 a.m., the above photo much later the same day – around 10:00 p.m.  The days can be long this time of year!

  2. Great pictures! But if you took the one photo at 4 a.m., and the other at 10 p.m., when do you sleep?

Good question. My sleep was broken into two parts as we took a 2 to 4 hour nap during each day. Still not very restful. Thanks.

  4. I stopped in once, I liked what I saw. A few weeks later I stopped in again and checked out a few more photos while I was here. Before you know it, I was stopping in two, three times a month. And now it’s gotten to the point where I MUST check in every time you post a new exquisite photo! What is happening to me??

    🙂

  8. Your beautiful images of Denali National Park make me want to go back some time soon. I have only been to Alaska one time. I had my sixth birthday up there when my mother and I went with my father landscape photographer Philip Hyde in 1971 when he was working on the Sierra Club book “Alaska: The Great Land,” which helped expand the national park and other wilderness. Your photographs take me right back to that time, particularly my indelible memories of the Grizzly Bears, wolves, moose or “meese” as my dad joked, and many other animals.

    Hi David,

Thanks so much for the comment! Your dad was an amazing photographer and a real pioneer who did so much for our National Park system. You must have lots of wonderful memories. Thanks,

    Ron
