Pika, Mount Evans, Colorado.

Finally able to spend some time outdoors after a long week of travel, and it felt good!  The colors in the high country are beginning to turn, I think our timing is good – I’m very excited about the upcoming weeks.  Colorado is a beautiful state!

Stormy weather made it hard to find mountain goats on Mt Evens, so I spent some time photographing these cute little guys!  I have seen them on numerous occasions in Denali, but not at the concentrations as I saw on Mt Evans.

Here are more Colorado photos.

  1. Top of the Day Ron,

Looking forward to seeing your photographs from, and reading your thoughts and about your experiences while in, my home state. I think you and Janine will enjoy your stay very much.

Now if you see a Wolverine while there does that count in the dinner bet with Carl. Think chances for a Wolverine are slim. Now seeing a Wolverine cousin, the badger, is a different story.

    Cheers!

  3. That is a darling creature – nice picture! I just came home from a week in Colorado (Estes Park and Vail) so I’m excited to see your pictures. There’s a very photogenic church called Saint Malo’s on the eastern edge of RMNP, about 10 minutes south of Estes Park, in case you want to check it out. I think it’s best in morning light.

    Thanks Dennis!

Thanks Genevieve, and thanks for the tip – I’ll have to look for that church – we just arrived at Estes Park.

  5. This answered my questions about the mountain goats. Love the little pika. Hard to catch them holding still long enough to get them in the lense, isn’t it?
