Pyrrhuloxia Photo

A photo of a Pyrrhuloxia.  I mistakenly identified the female Cardinal in yesterday’s post as a Pyrrhuloxia.  Janine spotted my mistake, but not until after my feed went out – so if you subscribe to this blog, this post might look like yesterdays.  So I thought this would be a good time to post an actual photo of a Pyrrhuloxia.  This is from today while at the Pond.

If you compare this to yesterday’s post, you can see these two birds are fairly similar.  The biggest difference is the color of the beak, and the Cardinal has a black band above the beak – this is lacking in the Pyrrhuloxia.

I was also able to photograph some male Cardinals today – there is no mistaking this colorful bird!
